Evaluating Effectiveness of Institutional Efforts to Educate Faculty and Staff on Their Policies for Dealing with Research Misconduct and Research Integrity

This study, conducted by the Research Triangle Institute International, will evaluate the efforts made by institutions to educate their faculty and staffs about the PHS Policies on Research Misconduct (42 C.F.R. Part 93).  The study will be done in two phases.  First, institutional officials will be interviewed about the steps they have taken to promulgate their institutional policy for responding to research misconduct allegations within their institution.  Second, self-administered questionnaires will be sent to faculty and staff members to determine what they know about their institution's policy.  The study is expected to be completed in 2008.
